Theming, Voice and Movement.
In this 100-hour intensive Tara will join forces with fellow colleague and sadhana brother Todd Tesen to play in the field of expression. As teachers of yoga, our voice and body are our tools to communicate to the classroom. The vocal/physical instrument is our only medium to convey the mood, the intention, the message of what we are offering.
Speaking in front of people in order to quickly, efficiently and compassionately communicate the message of yoga is one of the great challenges “sitting in the seat of the teacher”. Tara and Todd share a combined 40 years in the worlds of theatrical training including vocal techniques, improvisation, and movement. Both have spent the past 10 years utilizing those skills in both teaching yoga and teaching teachers of yoga.
We will work lovingly to encourage you into your widest range of authentic power and voice to create the greatest freedom and ease as the conductor/facilitator of the classroom. Using improvisation as a background, we will develop listening, idea generation, communication and problem solving on your feet as well as empathy, critical thinking, and multiple intelligences.
Sections will include:
– Teaching asana- authentic voice.
– Improvisational games.
– Deepening theme development through the classroom.
– Command of the classroom space.
By participating in this Advanced Yoga Immersion, you are eligible to receive 100 hours towards your YogaLila School of Yoga 300 hours Advanced Training.
