Protocol for Experienced Certified Anusara Teacher (ECAT)

The title of ECAT is a professional title that certifies you to teach all or part of a 300-Hour Anusara Teacher Training and 36-Hour Bridge Program. This is a great “next step” in the path of teaching excellence and we encourage you to consider applying.

Anusara ECATs will have access to:

  • The newly created  300-Hour Anusara Teacher Training curriculum and Student materials
  • Support and website presence on the Anusra School of Hatha Yoga website (marketing)

An Anusara ECAT will be able to offer their students:

  • 36-hour Bridge program (a pre-requisit training for non-Anusara RYT-200 teachers to join the 300-hr training)
  • An excellent pathway to greater skill and art in teaching Anusara
  • A deep, broad and well-designed curriculum
  • A pathway to Yoga Alliance 500 registration
  • Preparation for Anusara certification process.

What are the prerequisites? Who can apply to be licensed as an Anusara ECAT?

  • ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE MET THESE 3 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY AS AN ECAT:
      1. Taught at least 1 Anusara 200-Hour Teacher Training that was registered with the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga in order for these hours to count
      2. 8 years as an Anusara teacher licensed with the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga (4 years prior to applying for Certification + 4 years as a licensed Certified teacher).
      3. 4 years as a licensed Anusara Certified teacher [year and month of Certification]. You can apply for an exception provided you are have an ECAT mentor who is willing to mentor you throughout your first cycle of 300-hour teacher trainings
  • In addition to these prerequisites an application form must be filled out, a minimum score of 25 attained and license fee paid.

Subject Matter Specialists (SMS)

If you have a subject that you are especially qualified to teach but you do not qualify as a ECAT, you may be eligible to apply as Subject Matter Specialist.
