Even the Dark is Light – A Letter from the Board of Directors

Dear Kula,

Open to Grace, the first Principle of the Tantric teaching of Anusara yoga, asks us to pause, open to our highest nature and then align and act skillfully. We learn to stay grounded. As students of yoga, we learn how to move through challenging times with a commitment to experiencing the teachings of life.

In these challenging times, when conflict arises in the world, the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga affirms our commitment to promoting peace by holding deeply to our shared vision and to the sacred yogic principle of Ahimsa (non-harm).

In the spirit of the reality in which we are living, we must take right action from our deepest intention, in service of Truth, Wisdom and Love. We must be anchored in the highest teachings: Even the Dark is Light.

We can use our practices to cultivate the heart qualities of loving kindness, compassion, equanimity, and peace, both internally and externally, personally and universally.

Since we recognize the sacred in all beings, we offer our practices and classes with the highest intention of invoking peace and intending that Grace may be bestowed upon all who suffer and those who cause suffering.
If you feel called to take personal action, there are many opportunities to provide material support by donating to various organizations, such as:

Some of our members in Europe have been connecting with each other and sharing their feelings and the practices they are carrying to help them stay grounded. The feeling of uncertainty is real, the fear for safety is real. They led an online gathering, to meditate, chant and send our love and light to all who are in need of this healing energy. These Country Coordinators in Europe co-hosted a global meditation event on Facebook, if you missed it, you can watch the livestream here.

We stand in peace,
Board of Directors
