Online course for Beginners and Therapeutic Practitioners

The physical practice is an access point to a deeper integration and expression, it is a method for greater self-awareness. We need fuel to stay inspired and we also need clarity. We need support and guidance to better see what movement patterns are potentially holding us back or need to be awakened. In order to do so, this program will focus on breaking down more complex actions and finding the balance between expanding range and gaining strength. This program will support participants by facilitating their own self exploration. We will focus on one part of the body at a time all the while staying tethered to the wholeness that Yoga reveals.

Course Summary:

An 8-week online course focusing on the feet, ankles and the knees

This is 1 of 5 separate courses in which we will work our way around the body. Taking all 5 courses is a full year of study.



Feet, Ankles & Knees begins November 1st and our final practice will be on January 1st, 2021


Course Outline for Nov 2020 – Jan 2021:

Part 1: Feet and Ankles, a 4 week exploration

Part 2: Knees, a 4 week exploration

Each 4 week exploration begins with re-awakening optimal joint range and intrinsic muscle support within the context of our history of injury, pain and limitation. We work towards exploring how this area can regain its pivotal functioning within the full expression of the body as a whole. Practical and accessible contemplations and yoga teachings are introduced that accompany the work and give our embodied life a deeper meaning.  Each week of the course begins on Sunday with a new package of study materials to engage with including videos, visuals contemplations and more.

Each Friday we gather together 12:30-1:45pm EST (USA). This Friday gathering will be either a live, interactive yoga class, a Q&A session or personal contemplation assignment (that can also be done with a partner from the program). Everyone will receive recordings of these, so if you are not available to attend live, you can watch freely on your own time, again and again.

– 28 Anusara Yoga 300hr ATT hrs

— How to live with and not be limited by injuries and pain, previous and current

— The structures and movement potentials of our area of study

— How to actively and safely increase strength and range

— How to use balanced action to support an increased range of movement

— How to recognize your own patterns and better understand your own working edge

— A process of self discovery that takes you well beyond this course

Julia Pearring, ECAT, C-IAYT, supports students in the exploration of their optimal range, to uncover the strength and potential of a deeper alignment no matter their range of movement. Her advanced studies have included extensive anatomy, kinesiology and physiology training through cadaver dissections with Gil Hedley, explorations of Body Mind Centering and Laban Movement analysis with Amy Matthews plus fascial research with Tom Myers, and more. Her integrated focus on form, movement and the principles of Anusara yoga has organically built a thriving private therapeutic yoga practice. She strongly believes that an active sadhana, basing one’s personal practice on committed self inquiry and compassionate process, is invaluable for yoga teachers and practitioners.


Julia lives and teaches in NYC, where she is the managing director of the World Yoga Center. Julia teaches Anusara Yoga retreats, trainings and travels to teach in Anusara Yoga communities. Recently, she co-wrote the new Therapeutic Applications of Anusara Yoga Teacher’s Guide. JuliaPearring.com
