Philosophy & Ethics: Part 1 & 2
In depth study of Sanskrit texts to deepen our understanding of the philosophy behind the practice of life-affirming forms of yoga. This module will include the practice of meditation, teaching different meditation techniques, the ethics of teaching and qualities of being a teacher. You will learn how to integrate these teachings both ‘on’ and ‘off’ the mat both as a teacher and practitioner, bringing yoga into every day life.
We are thrilled to welcome Bill Mahoney to London for the first time and are honoured to have him teaching on our Advanced Teacher Training. He is known in the international yoga community for his scholarly yet deeply accessible teachings that make the wisdom of yogic texts relevant to our modern 21st century lives. Bill is the author of several books on the religions of India, he has a deep understanding of the yogic life grounded in over four decades of his own spiritual practice. Bill has presented workshops and seminars such as these throughout the world.
Study of Key Tantric Texts including:
- The Pratyabhijna Hrdaya – Swami Shantananda’s “The Splendor of Recognition”
- Vijnana Bhairava – Swami Lakshman Joo’s “Vijnanabhairava: The Practice of Centering Awareness,” & “Vijnanabhairava: The Manual for Self Realization.”

Study of Bhakit Texts:
- Bhakti Sutras –Exquisite Love by Bill Mahoney
15-17 November 2013 “Opening to the Luminous Self”. Bill will be exploring the Tantric Text “Pratyabhijna Hrdaya”. Bill will also discuss how he will run his webair seminars through 2014: his in depth study programme of the Yoga Sutras.
13-15 June 2014 “Awareness and Love”. This weekend Bill will delve into the Tantric practices of the “Vijnana Bhairava” (Awareness) and the Bakhti Sutra’s (Love).
