Teaching with the Universal Principles of Alignment
May 1, 2021 @ 9:00 am - May 16, 2021 @ 12:00 pm180USD
In the Anusara Immersion, we loved practicing asana with the UPAs – it was so fun and powerful, yet the UPAs also made it safe. Then in the Teacher Training, we began teaching asana with the UPAs – also fun, and maybe challenging. Now with this required module from the 300-Hour Anusara Teacher Training, we can review what we learned, refine our teaching skills, and go deeper in Teaching Asana with the UPAs.
We will have two optional preparation/review sessions, Saturday, April 10 and 17, 9 AM – 12 EDT, which is 15:00 – 18:00 in Europe. Our main activity then will be to review the cues for teaching the Principles of Alignment, so that we’re all ready for the module. Register on a donation basis.
The module is on Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2 and 15-16, from 9 AM – 12 EDT, which is 15:00 – 18:00 in Europe. Our intention at this time is to go deeper in teaching the Anusara method, focusing on the roles that the UPAs play in a class plan, and in the process, prepare for the certification assessment video. Our goal is to know: 1. The benefits, the anatomy, and heart qualities associated with the UPAs; 2. Why and how we choose 2 UPAs that support teaching with a theme and heart qualities; 3. Which UPAs to focus on for the main class of poses/apex poses; and 4. How to teach the UPAs systematically, leading to the apex pose.
Weekly asana classes, recorded on Zoom, will be available to practice what we are learning in the weekend sessions.
