Yoga Bio

I took my first yoga class in 2006 at Casa Shakti with Claudia Gonzalez in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, my hometown. And I just loved the feeling after class, then kept practicing at Casa Shakti until I decided to dig deeper into Yoga and went to India to take a one month intensive 200 hrs Teacher Training in Hatha and Ashtanga. It was the first time I ever sat down to meditate and it was really weird for me. By the end of the training I felt like that 5am hour of meditation was magical, like I needed it to start the day. I came across Anusara thanks to my first teacher in Mexico City, Marcia Uruchurtu, and I fell in love with the classes and the method, the thing I loved the most was that I could relate to every class and could apply the theme to my real day to day.
So I decided to pursue the training in Anusara with Gaby Zermeño in Cuernavaca. It has been a year since my graduating from Anusara Elements, I am reaching at Shala Prema, a small new studio in Col. del Valle Mexico City, and I am as happy as can be teaching something that I truly believe and support. It is the kind of Yoga that works for me, which is why it comes so natural to teach it. I am very grateful to all my teachers who have encouraged me to follow my heart and keep exploring in this wonderful journey of life.
