A 6-Night Anusara® yoga Retreat with Bo & Shirley Srey
29 March – 4 April 2026
Join us for an unforgettable Anusara® yoga retreat and mystical journey through the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan — a land where elemental prayer flags dance in the mountain breeze, ancient monasteries cling to cliffsides, and joy is measured not by wealth, but by the collective happiness of the people.
Over six transformative days, we’ll explore Bhutan’s sacred sites, hike through pristine mountain landscapes, savor her cultural and culinary delights, and dive deeply into the heart of Anusara yoga — a practice that invites us to align with our highest truth and live with greater presence, joy, and freedom.
Our days begin with the nondual practices of Anusara yoga, including dharana (centering), dhyana (meditation), and asana (postures). We’ll set the intention for each morning’s practice to unfold delightfully throughout the day’s journey — inspired by the profound beauty and sacredness that abounds in Bhutan. With travel and schedule considerations in mind, we’ll transition into the evening with a more easeful asana practice and other indrawn practices to complete the day.
We’ve timed our retreat to coincide with Paro Tshechu, one of Bhutan’s most vibrant and important religious festivals. On the final day of the festival, we’ll witness a rare and powerful event — the unfurling of the Thongdrel, an enormous sacred scroll said to confer blessings simply by being seen.
From there, we journey toward Haa Valley via Chele La Pass, the highest motorable point in Bhutan at 3,988 meters (13,083 feet). The scenic drive winds through dense forest and past seasonal waterfalls, offering sweeping views of the Himalayas — including the majestic Mount Jomolhari.
Haa, known as the “Hidden Land,” is remote, wild, and deeply peaceful — one of the most untouched places in Western Bhutan. Here, nature reveals herself in full, and silence holds space for deep inner listening.
We’ll complete our journey with a pilgrimage to the iconic Paro Taktsang Monastery — also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Clinging impossibly to the edge of a sheer cliff at nearly 3,000 meters, this sacred site is believed to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated in the 8th century after flying there on the back of a tigress. A place of profound spiritual power, Taktsang offers breathtaking views and a fitting final ascent — both inward and outward — to seal our transformative week together.
