About this event
A weekend away in Somerset, UK to press pause and re-wild your soul!Feeling a bit stuck in a rut? Really need a break from the humdrum? Want some 'me time'? Are you ready to eat well, sleep deeply, rest, rediscover and re-wild your yoga practice? All in the great company of your other lovely fellow yogis! This weekend away is just long enough for you to properly press pause on the distractions, the busy and the everyday ...
We will be together from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon, so that's two nights away to refresh and revive. Extended time on your mat, and with me as your dedicated teacher gives you the space to really get curious and improve is all aspects of yoga, explore some poses we don't get time to in class and push yourself a bit more. Picture yourself rolling out your mat in a gorgeous yurt, curling up in a sofa, eating incredible food or going for a wonderfully long walk with no other distractions other than wondering what the cooks will be making you for your healthy dinner!
Yoga retreats pause time. Allowing space for you to reflect and ponder, to journal, to stretch and move, to laugh with like minded people, to hide away a while, to eat well, to sleep deeply and to step outside of the daily churn. On retreat you can simply be you ... ditch the labels (leave behind your role, your job title, your family position, the labels you give yourself) and start listening to your heart space!
Our practice will take place in a spacious yurt just a short stroll from your bedroom. This gorgeous space will create a calming and nurturing environment where we can practice in a mandala (circle) and all props are provided by the venue ... so just bring you!
I have planned some gorgeous classes to call on the wild, flowing and fun side of yoga ... think sunflowers, wild-child and hippy flows! We will use the practice to take ourselves a little less seriously, lighten up and explore and deepen the practice. The extra long classes will be well paced with pauses along the way, but the additional time will perhaps see you move deeper and get a better understanding of yourself. This is open to all levels of yogi ... I've got years of experience, so I will treat you to a physical practice that can be appropriately adjusted for all bodies, whilst weaving in freeing poetry and story telling and encouraging you to journal and play! To me this is the perfect combination!
Practices will range from some strong, freeing Hatha, to more relaxing restorative in the afternoons, and on to stillness in an evening crystal bowl sound bath aa well as morning meditations. So you will experience the full spectrum of yoga, and I will manage energy levels to ensure you get a good balance and go home refreshed, inspired and re-wilded!
