Meet Our Mentor – Lalla Turske

We chatted with our mentor Lalla Turske about her experience with Anusara and why she decided to become an Anusara mentor!

I am Lalla (Lalleshvari), an Experienced Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher (ECAT), a nutritionist and psychotherapist. But my main focus is training future Anusara teachers.

I have been teaching Anusara Yoga since 2004 and got Certified in 2006. John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga, asked Vilas and me to introduce Anusara to the German speaking community. We translated the teachings into German.

We had three Anusara studios in Berlin before opening an Academy in Potsdam in 2013.

Why did you choose to become a Mentor?

I chose to become a mentor because I feel deeply committed to the students and because I love to share my long standing experience with students. Furthermore, I realize how important it is to stay in contact with those who want to deepen their knowledge in difficult times like now.

Tell us about your Mentoring Session.

My session will focus on teaching with a heart-theme, which in my view is the most important part of an Anusara class. The heart theme is the spiritual part, which makes a class emotionally fulfilling and inspiring. Teachers will learn where to look for a heart theme, how to implement it in the class, and how to combine it with asana sequences.

What is your inspiring message for our members?

The essence of yoga lies in the heart. The essence of Anusara yoga lies in the heart theme.
