Meet Your Teachers

Experienced Certified Anusara Teacher

Jayendra began practicing hatha yoga and meditation in 1977. Shortly after that, he met the great meditation master Swami Muktananda.

At the Siddha Yoga ashram, he met John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga and in 2001, he became a certified Anusara Yoga teacher.

He has taught more than 20 Anusara Teacher Trainings around Europe. In his 300 hour Online Teacher Trainings, he invites experts, such as Ellen Saltonstall, Carlos Pomeda and others, as guest teachers, thus making those modules a rare and unique experience.

Subject Matter Specialist

Ellen is passionate about encouraging yoga practitioners to appreciate the majesty of the human body as they learn anatomy.

In a dynamic and interactive process, we explore how the moving body works, and through that knowledge, we appreciate how the alignment principles support and protect us through our lives.

Ellen has written five books: Yoga for Arthritis, Yoga for Osteoporosis, Anatomy and Yoga: A Guide for Teachers & Students, The Bodymind Ballwork Method and her more recent book Empowered Aging: Everyday Yoga Practices for Bone Health, Strength, and Balance.

Good Alignment is Good Therapy.

Anusara Yoga is an integrated, holistic hatha yoga system that has many therapeutic applications, especially regarding musculoskeletal injuries and limitations.

In Anusara Yoga, effective musculoskeletal therapy is a practice of applying principles of alignment in a variety of precise postures and exercises.

The Universal Principles of Alignment™ are an elegant set of general postural instructions that can be applied to any movement or position of the body in order to create optimal alignment and therapeutic benefits.

At times during this training, we will focus on the therapeutic applications of Anusara Yoga in a general class setting, and at times in a private, one-on-one situation. In all cases, the same therapeutic principles apply.
