Yoga Bio

As a European-American ECAT, E-RYT 500 and YACEP, with ten years teaching experience, my first priority is to provide students with effective tools to release tension, grow strong to the core, and become well-aligned in body, mind, and spirit. Rather than ‘pretzeling’ our body into classical forms and risking injury, we approach these poses using balanced and anatomically healthy joint alignment and muscle activation. This way, we strategically open up tight spots and strengthen weak areas caused by stress, one-sided workouts, and ‘office-and iphone-asana’. My classes, workshops and teacher trainings incorporate cutting-edge physical therapy techniques to unlock the powers of traditional asana, as well as pranayama and meditation to rediscover our innate freedom. “Yoga with Suzanne” is known for being “challenging and fun,” combining a strong anatomy focus with the joy of movement, guided by a deeply heart-oriented intentionality.

What do you love most about Anusara Yoga?

I come from a very ‘muscular’ and precise background (Ballet, and growing up in Germany). That can be a good thing, but I’ve also struggled with a world that is overly harsh and performance-driven. I love Anusara Yoga for its softening and opening aspect that can give us true freedom from suffering.

Why do you teach Anusara yoga?

I teach Anusara because it healed my chronic pain and gave me a new lease on life, and because this method gives the students time to really get to know their bodies and minds.

Why do you license with Anusara?

Because I feel connected to the genuine and kind community of teachers and the message of lovingkindness that underlies the Anusara philosophy.
