The Anusara Elements membership provides teachers with an entry-level license to teach Anusara Elements classes. As Anusara members they will be able to call their classes Anusara® yoga. If they do not become Anusara members the completion of the Anusara teacher training allows them to teach as Hatha yoga teachers or alignment-based hatha yoga teachers. They are not permitted to use the Anusara trademark in their professional or class titles without a valid Anusara membership. Please review the complete trademark guidelines for more details.

Anusara Elements Prerequisites:

To qualify for this membership teacher trainees must:

• Complete the basic 200-hour Anusara teacher training program (including 100-hour Anusara Immersion and 100-hour teacher training). Or, complete the 300-hour teacher training

–AND-

• Receive a membership recommendation from the teacher trainer.

Recommend your students for Anusara Elements:

Please recommend any student who meets the above-mentioned prerequisites and has demonstrated the following:

• An understanding of the Universal Principles of Alignment™
• An ability to introduce and weave a heart quality and/or theme into their teaching

In your End of Training Information Sheet enter the name and e-mails of all the students who attended your training.

To recommend a student place a check mark beside the student’s name.

If a student is not ready at the time of graduation, include their name in the list but leave the check box blank. You may recommend them later on by submitting the Elements Recommendation Form.

Once we receive your recommendation we will contact the student with the e-mail you provide us with and invite them to apply, please provide them with the link to the application form just in case our e-mail gets lost in junk mail (see below).  

Please inform your students about the Anusara Elements application process:

1. Ask your teacher trainer to submit a recommendation.
2. Submit Anusara Elements application (including application fee payment all requested documents).

Upon approval:

1. Application approval letter will be sent by email with a link to follow to pay the annual membership fee.
2. Once membership payment is received receive a final letter of congratulations will be sent by e-mail and teacher’s name will be added to the School’s website Teacher Directory. They can begin teaching Anusara Elements™ yoga classes!

Recommending for Anusara-Inspired membership:

If your training graduate already has two (2) years yoga teaching experience in any style of yoga, they are eligible for Anusara-Inspired membership. Please evaluate one of their classes using the Universal Class Assessment Form (UCAF). This class evaluation can be done as part of the practicum of your teacher training program or you can view one of their public classes (you must view at least 75 minutes of them teaching). When the trainee meets the requirements of the UCAF, please provide them with a copy of your class evaluation so that they can submit the Anusara-Inspired application form and complete their process.
